THE OPPORTUNITY: “Among other advantages, executing ESG effectively can help combat rising operating expenses (such as raw-material costs and the true cost of water or carbon), which McKinsey research has found can affect operating profits by as much as 60 percent.” – McKinsey (November 2019)

THE OBSTACLES: “A 2021 global survey shows this mediocrity, pointing out that while 81 percent of companies have a "formal ESG program," only 50 percent believe that their company "performs effectively against environmental metrics.” – JD Supra (February 2021)

Overcoming the obstacles to realizing the opportunities a sound ESG strategy will deliver is a challenge for many organizations. However, according to a March 2022 BNP PARIBAS article, the pressure on APAC asset managers “to ensure not only that they are in compliance with new regulations, but also that they are using the full suite of analytics tools to leverage the ESG data now at their disposal,” is a defining call to meaningful action on the part of procurement professionals.

Within the framework of three primary discussion points, a panel of top industry experts will join Procurement Insights' Jon Hansen to talk about ESG developments in the APAC region. The panel will also examine how digital procurement will help procurement teams and, in turn, their organizations achieve their ESG goal.

Knowing what buying organizations must do to bridge the gap between ESG promise and realization using advanced technology is the key outcome of attending this session:
